Whether you’re looking to entertain the kids, or just your own inner child that loves to send it down some big slides – you do you – these are the hotels in Spain that do it best.
Getting your wet and wild adrenaline fix has never been easier, with stays that already come with either their own waterpark, or park access included. There’ll be none of this pack-your-bags-and-panic to beat the crowds when its already part of the package. And the lazy river lives up to its name when it’s right next door. So, it’s time to get picky with this lowdown of the best waterpark hotels in Spain…
HD Parque Cristobal Tenerife & Siam Park, Tenerife
Unlimited access to Siam Park and free shuttle bus
If you geek out on waterparks, you’ll have heard of Siam Park in Tenerife… It’s been rated the number one waterpark in the world ten times in a row by Tripadvisor. It’s the most-visited park in the Canary Islands, Europe’s biggest and has over 30 attractions. It’s all Thai themed and legendary rides include the Tower of Power and The Dragon, as well as the wave pool and one-kilometre-long Mai Thai lazy river – say no more.
HD Parque Cristobal Tenerife & Siam Park offers free, unlimited access to this waterpark with every stay. They even throw in a free shuttle bus every day until 6pm to help get you there ASAP. Rooms here are individual bungalows, so you get your own terrace, kitchenette and lounge area to spread out and self-cater if you like. The hotel even has its own waterslide, along with an outdoor activity pool, two kids’ pools and a chill one. There’s a poolside bar, buffet restaurant and some live performances put on in the week. It doesn’t get much better for water babies to be honest…
Club Mac, Majorca
Unlimited access to Hidropark Alcudia and 20% off food and drink
Guests of Club Mac in Majorca get unlimited access to Hidropark Alcudia during their stay, which is just across the road. The park is open from May to the end of October, weather permitting, so make sure to plan your trip then. There are different pools and waterslides for different levels, including the adrenaline-inducing Kamikaze, which is 15-metres high. You can also get 20% off food and drink when you’re there and there are loads of restaurants to pick from.
Back at the hotel, the in-water fun just won’t quit. We’re talking eight pools, where two are connected by a lazy river so you don’t even need to dry off hopping between them. There are three just dedicated to the kids and there’s a lake, where you can’t swim but you can take pedalos and mini electric boats out on the water. It may as well be classed as a second waterpark… On land, there are more activities, with a whole programme running each day that features archery, tennis, volleyball, football, mini golf and more. If that’s sounding a bit much, the spa definitely still counts as something to do but much more chill. They have a gazebo-style chill-out zone in the gardens, where you can book a massage or facial. Then, in the evening, pick from three buffet options and check out tonight’s entertainment – it can be anything from comedy to dancing, live music or karaoke.
Globales Los Delfines, Menorca
Unlimited access to Aqua Center waterpark
Aqua Center is right next to this hotel in Menorca and boasts giant slides, water tunnels, the black hole and kamikaze slides. Even on dry land, there are go-karts, a play area and snack bars. Stays at Globales Los Delfines of course get unlimited access to all of this, but All Inclusive guests also get to use their perks at the waterpark, too – even more reason to go all in…
The whole place is a family-friendly complex of apartments – you get a lounge, kitchenette and balcony to yourself. There’s a pool and splash area here if you’re still not done with the water-filled fun, or maybe a lounger is more your scene – leave the little ones to it. More low-key activities include table tennis, boules and football – all the holiday classics. The buffet is also available, alongside one just for any fussy kids, if you don’t fancy cooking for yourselves. And, at night, this place is known for its entertainment. There are live shows, music, competitions and comedy sets to get involved with.
Albir Garden Resort, Costa Blanca
Has its own waterpark
There’s no need to even leave the grounds at Albir Garden Resort along the Costa Blanca, it’s got a waterpark of its own right here. It’s open between May and October and includes 16 slides, both straight and corkscrew styles, as well as a tipping bucket fountain and splash park.
Of course, access is included, you’re staying right next to it – in an apartment as well, so it’s nice and spacious. Location-wise, you’re daytripping distance to Valencia for a day in the city, or just 15 minutes from the nearest beach. There are also two pools with your classic sunloungers and parasols if slides aren’t your vibe. Let the ride lovers do their thing, book in a favour with the kids’ club, and you can indulge in your idea of water-filled fun – a visit to the Turkish bath, steam sauna and whirlpool bath in the spa. You aways get so hungry after swimming, so good job the foodie set-up here is top level. Pick from a Mexican food truck, pizza corner, the main buffet, or the pool bar turns into an Asian restaurant in the evenings and puts on cooking demos of different sushi dishes. Drinks are served in the Garden Bar, or you can join in on quiz nights and bingo – there’s a whole evening entertainment programme.
Hotel LIVVO Valle Taurito, Gran Canaria
Unlimited access to Lago Taurito waterpark
Hotel LIVVO Valle Taurito shares this attraction with its neighbour, LIVVO Lago Taurito. The waterpark is the only seawater park in Gran Canaria, and you get unlimited access with your stay – it’s literally just over the road. There’s a high-speed bowl slide, two kamikazes and loads of body slides, all set within the mountains.
Just so you know, food and drink at the waterpark aren’t part of your All Inclusive package here and you have to pay for sunloungers, but they’re free back at the hotel. There’s a pool back on site with loads of loungers and a kids’ section, too. Plus, you’re right by a black-sand beach, which you can enjoy for most of the year, thanks to Gran Canaria’s year-round sunshine. There are craggy cliffs around you and then sea views all the way to the horizon, so it feels nice and secluded. Pick your meals from the buffet restaurant and there are four bars on hand to keep the drinks coming. They even put on a Christmas Day gala dinner if you fancy spending the big day down here.
