Holidays to Turkler get you a low-key number on the Turkish Riviera – with some revved up nightlife just along the coast at Alanya.
Publicity-shy resort
Flashbulbs and Turkler don’t really go together. This quiet resort on Turkey’s southwest coast likes to keep a low profile – which is handy if you’re looking for a laid-back vibe. And though it obviously doesn’t shout about it, this place has nabbed a top spot on the Turkish Riviera – so the beach deserves some applause. Plus, when you want something livelier, buzzy Alanya is just 20 kilometres away.
Beach life
You’ve got a 15-kilometre stretch of white sand and pebbles here – and as it’s a quiet kind of place, you should have plenty of room to spread out. The hotels do a sterling job of supplying both the watersports and the bars, to keep the drinks and snacks coming. And whenever you fancy a change of scene, there’s a 10-kilometre sandy beach at Konakli, about 10 minutes away.
R&R, Turkish style
Turkey is big on baths – or hammams – and the bigger of the resort’s hotels have their own. They’re top spots for getting a steam, scrub and rubdown – with a nice little massage thrown in. And they’re not the only healthy option round these parts. A visit to the caves near Alanya’s beach could do wonders for your asthma, apparently.
Daytrips to Alanya
In less than 30 minutes you can be in Alanya. As you’ll see, it’s got a hilltop fortress and walls that seem to go on forever – well, it does have 140 towers to fit in. There’s also an ancient church and mosque here. Plus the marina is packed with lively cafés and bars, and the whole place is brimming with shops.Best time to go to Turkler
